#YearofMindfulness Day 16: Choice
Integrating mindfulness into my life is my choice. I know the benefits. I want the benefits. So I'm not sure why I consciously choose to forego my mindfulness practice sometimes. I'm experiencing cognitive dissonance between what my brain thinks I want and what my short-term gratification thinks I want. I'm dissatisfied with my choice.
Area for growth: Consistently choose to practice mindfulness three times each day.
Wins: I practiced mindfulness twice today!
Takeaway: When tempted to forego a long-term benefit for short-term gratification, I want to ask myself "What impact will [each choice] have on me?" and "What impact will it have on others?"
