#YearofMindfulness Day 17: Expect
As I was planning my schedule today, I realized, disappointed, that I wouldn't be able to do something I had hoped to do because there simply wouldn't be time to do it. Then I realized that I had just assumed I would practice mindfulness; I hadn't even considered that it was an option NOT to do it, even if that meant I couldn't do something else. Even my subconscious is welcoming the practice of mindfulness into my daily routine!
Area for Growth: View mindfulness as a privilege, instead of as an obligation that prevents me from doing what I actually want to do.
Wins: I practiced mindfulness three times today!
Takeaway: Expect that the habits I'm trying to start will become part of my life, and arrange my schedule accordingly. What was your process for integrating a new habit?
