#YearofMindfulness Day 31: Reclaim

When my therapist told me, "I want you to practice 3-5 minutes of mindfulness 3-5 times each day," I stared at her in disbelief. If I had 3-5 minutes to myself even just once each day, I wouldn't be there. Except I was. For an hour. So clearly, I had the time. My #YearofMindfulness was my decision to reclaim those minutes and apply them to myself: for my mental health, and for improved interactions with those around me.

Area for Growth: Nothing is ever so urgent that I can't step out of the pressure and breathe for a few minutes.

Wins: I practiced mindfulness three times today!

Takeaway: Taking time to center myself isn't selfish; it's sane. How do you invest in your sanity?
