#YearofMindfulness Day 91: Stupor
When prehistoric-sounding screams slice through my night, forcing an early start to my day, and then the creature responsible is a snarling mess for the rest of the day, sometimes I find myself in a mental stupor in which I struggle to process the most basic thoughts. Furthermore, when my hope of a long afternoon naptime evaporates with the 106-decibel shrieks emitting from the room intended for rest, sometimes thoughts of mindfulness practice never occur to me.
Area for Growth: Practice mindfulness immediately after putting little one to bed, regardless of whether child is asleep yet.
Wins: I practiced mindfulness once today!
Takeaway: Sleep deprivation messes with my brain and my emotions. How do you stay grounded when you're in a stupor?
